All The World's A Stage - Sepia Saturday

Let me introduce you to the 'Dramatis Personæ' in my school pictures this week.
Stage set: Cromwell Castle, Tresco, Isles of Scilly
All you have to do to play the game is to locate these three actors in the photographs of their schools.
Yaddlethorpe Primary School (1960s)
Sorry, but you are not to be given any clues other than that there is a certain logic in how the photos have been posted.
Conyers School, Yarm
The final group of youngsters comes from Yarm also.
Yarm Primary School (1970s)
For those concerned with posture here's a group of teachers showing how ankles should be crossed.
Stamford High School staff (1950s)
To see what prompted my choice and others' interpretations you should check out Sepia Saturday 97

Fantastic pictures Bob, and I think I see what you are leading to but my eyesight isn’t that good. I couldn’t enlarge the photos either

I see what you mean Nell. The only way I can enlarge a photo is to click on it and then use Zoom In from the View menu several times.

I think my second comment got lost too. I think there is something strange about this template.

Postcardy - I haven't seen another. I agree some things happen that I can't explain. Thanks for your visit anyway.

This is my 3rd attempt at leaving a second comment. There is something not right with this template.

Bob this template is not right. When you click preview or post comment you get a blank box with a word verification-so I’m using that. But this is my fourth attempt. Perhaps blogger haven’t got it right yet. Maybe you should switch back until they fix the bug or people may give up.

You’ll probably see all my previous attempts now :)

Thanks for perserving Nell, Yourand Postcardy's comments have made up my mind and I have gone to the blogger Simple design. Hope this solves the comments problem for you.

Ah yes, much better! :)

Wow, the teachers look proper! The 1950s when women were mostly teachers, nurses or secretarys if they worked outside the home. I wonder what the staff at Stamford looks like now?

Well, they are definitely cute school photos, but I have not a clue about the game, lol.

I've enlarged and studied the photos but can't identify any actors. When are you going to divulge them?

I scanned through all the comments in the hope that someone had already come up with the answer to your "game" : but I have to say that, so far, it has me defeated. However I try, I can't seem to get the ages to fit with any logical progression through the images.

I can't even start to identify your Dramatis Personae, sorry. I'm intrigued by the teacher and their ankle crossing. I feel sure they were told that those on the left of the picture should cross right over left, and those on the right of the picture should cross left over right. One teacher was a rebel!

I'm not even going to attempt identification.

But the photo of the teachers makes me wonder...the way they have their ankles crossed - some right over left and a few vice-versa...

I wonder if that is an indication of whether they were right or left-handed?

Bob, I enjoyed all of your pictures but that is just too hard. I can hardly find my own grandmother in my post, lol!

Have a wonderful week,

The differences in clothing and hair styles are striking. I have no clue where you all are located, but thanks for sharing. Thanks for your comment on my blog about the dynamic views. I have tried a number of different styles. I'm not sure which one to stick with. Which one do you like? I haven't had any complaints about commenting. One strange thing I have noticed though is my page views have increased dramatically since I started dynamic views. Not sure what the connection is here yet. lol

Doug: as the blog owner I found working with Timeslide to be the best dynamic view. My page views went through the roof as well but after one day switching back they have fallen back to what they used to be.

Sorry for staining your eyes folks; for the answer to the identification quiz you need to view the dramatis personae from left to right.

My elder son is backrow 4th from the left in the first picture.
My younger son is backrow 3rd from right in the Conyers shot.
My daughter is backrow in the red/black dress in the Yarm Primary.

For those of you obsessed with the teachers ankles:the two teachers in the centre have their legs crossed the same way; the groups of three on either side have their legs crossed in opposite directions.

I'm glad I came late enough to learn where everyone was in the photos. Your children are all tall! And very good looking. Thanks for the views. Do you know the teachers in the last photo? They look very proper, just as was the custom in the 1950s.

I guessed the order but never would have found their faces. Great photos, Bob! Love the teachers!

I find myself wishing that they had taken group photos at my school. What a great way to ensure that you had at least one picture of all your friends.

I can imagine the photographer choreographing ankle positions for the ladies. But children? All the hands ankles, arms are more even than my son's class photos ever were. A fun post.

Sorry, unable to identify anybody! But enjoyed it nonetheless!
